I think you're right about the mechanical advantage but not about the venturi assist. Smaller case=less volume=faster air flow through the case=more venturi, assuming everything else is the same.

I suspect case fault geometry is practically the same on the two, but I don't know for sure.

I understand but what I was thinking is that since the diaphragm is smaller on the A700 and the purpose of the Venturi is to assist pulling a vacuum to sustain the deflection of the diaphragm, all things being equal, the larger case and the larger diaphragm most particularly, the G250/G260 Venturi should be more effective. But, perhaps not.

I wonder if Shark1 is still reading this thread... And understanding how much you guys (not me) know about regulators and how little his tech does...

Jim...

It's a shame there's not an all-metal g260

I would have no particular qualms with purchasing the SP G260 or the Halcyon G250 clone or a cared for SP G250. I think I would prefer the Mk17 first.

SP advertises their A700 as their top-shelf 2nd stage. Better breathing than the S600 or G260, they claim.

But isn't that something your "tech" commented on re the Conshelf and that you were concerned about? Can't imagine an all metal G260 would be any lighter than a Conshelf, in fact I'd imagine heavier given its larger size.
