I also use cornstarch. White's drysuits in which i have, mentioned that as a subitute for calc. I been using it for a couple of years now and like someone mention above "it's cheap" and it works.

I use the powder to get into the suit when it's dry and the KY to get out when my hands are wet. I find that the talc on the wet hands just makes a mess. The KY trick is new to me, I feel like I've been torturing my seals to get out before using the lube!

been using regular el-cheapo drugstore baby powder on my neoprene wrist seals for over 300 dives with no damage to them yet...

Thanks all for the ideas/responses. I will see what I can find: I've got billards stores, climbing stores, bowling alleys all around me. I've yet to find a bondage store, but I'll keep an eye out for one - I'll tell my wife I'm looking for talc and ref her to this thread.......

Thanks
Steve

I found my talc online at a bondage supplier's website! It was really cheap, and it gave the rest of my office something to talk about for a while.....

How about giving us the link?

Purely for dive supply purposes, of course! ;)

Just look at all of the possibilities. Talc for the dry suit, soft rope so we won't chaff our hands using a jon line. Instructors can use the whips for unruly students. The cuffs for actual practice on Search and Rescue class. The love swings to dry our gear without having to get out of it. The list goes on and on. Come on Detroit diver.. Send out the link :censored:

I don't have the link anymore. I was a couple of years ago and I bought so much I didn't think I'd need their services (at least the talc services!) again.

Is bondage talc DIR? :dazzler1:

Go to the pharmacy counter and ask them to order
"HUMCO Talc USP" -- has no fragrance, pure talc. My pharm
(which in part of a grocery store) gets it in in 1-2 days.
It comes in 10oz container for
about $11 (as of last year). I then go to the travel size
section, buy one of those travel size baby powder, dump
the contents and wash/dry it real well and refill with pure
talc. I've seen others use spice jars.
