Well K....I stayed out of it as well...but I did read the entire thread and also the post over on the caver forum.
To me, they both came across poorly. Noe and his complaint, well friggan wah. It's a public cave and therefore accessible by anyone, qualified or not. Sure, they've done great work, kudos to them for doing it, but it's not private property, so they can make "rules" which are really only suggestions all they want, and they can cry until they're blue in the face, they have no enforcement. Go home and let someone else play in the cave for a while. We learned to take turns in the sandbox at pre-school.
Steve came here to defend himself, or whatever, but his posts are all aggressive and attacking. So what if Alan had some inaccurate info? Who cares if they're planning a 600' dive on mixed gas or a 528' on CCR....What does that matter to a bunch of recreational divers anyway? So he jumps all over Alan, who we all know is a great guy with only the best intentions, Alan even apologizes and with concern asks about one of their crew, only to be stepped on again. So, Steve's intention may have been different than what comes over.
Seems all involved are crying like children. Noe, shut up and share the cave. Steve, go make your dive and try not to die. Simple enough. Alan, don't sweat it, you're good with folks here.
