100-days-a-year,

Was it at the first time you used the computer?

I can't say anything, beside that it sounds wierd, and could only be the result of a mulfunction. I used my computer for a lot of dives at the depth you mentioned, and deeper, and I never got any lock outs, miabe just an ocasional "beep" of ascending to fast.

Just to clarify we have gone all the way from the start of this which was,

3.That is to say that he found it nearly impossible doing multi-day repetitive dives. Also the ascent rate is a bit slow altho very safe. For a very conservative occasional diver I'm sure they'de be fine.I'd hate to take one on a long trip or liveaboard tho

all the way to your latest comment (after a good bit of badgering) which was

Perhaps the computer was malfuntioning?

Does that sort of sum things up? So after jumping in here and telling prospective owners that the computer is only suitable for occasional conservative divers, it may have merely been a rare malfunction limited to one defective unit? Did I get that right?

Of course it certainly seems impossible that your friend may have simply made a mistake.

Yesterday I received my Suunto Mosquito via Internet order, and after taking only an hour or so to go through the manual, I have to agree with Ralph and other Suunto users that the programming is really straight forward once you take the time to understand the menu structure.

I'm looking forward to having this little guy cover me for both dive computing and wristwatch duties, especially at such a reasonable price. Just think, ten or even five years ago, was something this size possible at even close to $250.00 ?? I can't wait to see what yummy dive gear they come up with next!

Gear-head-

what can I say?
I envy you!
you got the coolest computer around!
did it really cost only 250$?

my vyper cost me the same 2 years ago, but I got it with a very special price, the regular price was almost twice.

Sure the Mosquito is cool, but I think the display sucks.

I am just waiting for Suunto to make a Air Integrated Stinger (using a transmitter) with a cool display.

That will be the next big computer.

Hi all,

Sorry for coming to this debate so late in the game but I've just noticed it. I also own a Vyper computer and have had no lockout problems on multiday / multidive profiles. I think I see the obvious problem here, it lies with the following quote from 100-dives-a-year:

liquid,

. . . The computer was new,had several dives on it.We set po2 ,alarms and everything to conform with the dive area.He was below me only as we started up as I ascend faster .I agree no computer should have tweaked him,but I saw the face and it said"bab boy"or "er"

He claims that they set po2. That is the most conservative setting hence the extreme limits. Hope I'm not being too much of a wise guy on my first post!!
