Divers here have started using the clip on the right of the backgas. They're finding its useful to have stages nose clipped to the left hip d-ring when full, rotate them to the left chest d-ring when in use, and then rotate them to the right backgas clip when empty. This doesn't suffer from the hot/cold mix issues, and helps keep it cleaner to see which bottle is currently in use, and parking them off the backgas keeps them away from the longhose. It also makes it really obvious for support divers which bottles to grab first. Thoughts?

What clip to the right of the backgas?

That may work in OW but would be a PITA and entaglement hazard in a wreck and in a cave you would be dragging the bottles on the ceiling when empty and dragging below uyou when full.

the wkpp does that because of the massive amount of bottles the support divers have to move. What, has everyone gone and placed a d ring there because the wkpp needs it for specific use now? Years ago they also had a clip there for using the video light battery canister which was larger than a alum 40, nobody put the d ring there if they weren't actually using the lights.

Wakulla is big enough that it may as well be OW in regards to tanks dragging or hitting the ceiling.

actually it looks like JJ has a d-ring on both right and left backgas:

here's the left side where you can see the d-ring:

and here's a shot where you can see there's also one of those on the right:

so the lemmings follow when there is no need? I'll place a $50 bet that JJ wouldn't recommend a right d ring for most divers. Wanna take it?

lamont:
Not sure about that one (looks may be deceiving --unless the picture's caption comments that it is what it appears to be) . . .I think those bottles off to the rear right side of the diver are actually on a leash clipped-off to his butt d-ring, and are floating in the position you see because of slipstream/wake effects from Scootering. . .

I wonder how many emulators are wearing an RB80 like JJ is there...
