wow, what a fantastic night. great writeup claudette! *zero* waves, excellent vis (until you hit the DOZENS of bat rays!!!). critters everywhere. lots of mating squid. carpets of contiguous squid eggs going on forever!

Great photos Scott. Can we hit the eggs straight out now or do we need to follow a particular set of line-ups and courses?

thanks Jim

don't go straight out. walk half way to the pier, then go straight out (260 heading on my compass). or follow claudette's instructions in the first post.

Hope you have a nice dive!

Scott

OH SURE! NOW you tell me! I was just out there the weekend before last! :(

John and I are headed to Vets tonight. Hope to see some of you there. Not sure of our timing as it will depend on traffic, but we are hoping for an ETA of 6 PM.

To the Bat Ray Cave!

Thanks for the pics and the reports Scott and Claudette. This is absolutly amazing. This squid run is all I've heard about for the last 2 weeks. My husband (Larry) and I are wanting to go out there Saturday night but there is supposed to be a NW swell coming in. We have not dived anywhere in LA yet and don't know, really, what gets affected by what swells. Can you all keep posting the conditions so we can decide whether to tackle this by ourselves or not??
Thanks
Ruth
