Hey, thanks Ken for the plug.

Of course I'd love to dive Redondo to see how the squid runs there differ from ours. Can't remember if it was you, or maybe Scott, that had the great shot of a bat ray eating them.

Last year divers saw mantis shrimp feeding on them out here.

This year too.

Laurel, come out Wednesday night...you'll find a sherpa.

I swear, dude is a Ray magnet. I dive vets once or twice a week for the last 17 months. I've seen 2 electric rays, and maybe 3 bat rays.

Dude sees one or more every time he splashes at Vets. Probably diving closer to the pier than I am.

Scott is the Ray whisperer.

Allright, I will be a dive vet on Wednesday. Good thing I didn't take my drysuit in to get fixed yet!

I'd rather not drive through traffic...anyone wanna grab a bite to eat around 5 on Wednesday?

Phil, it will be good to see you again!

If I want to see electric rays, I dive deep at Farnsworth Bank during daylight! Last thing I want to do is ascend right into one and get my head zapped!

Cool pictures and clips!! never seen anything like that. Thnks for sharing!!

You can reach my newspaper column about them at

Great articles Dr. Bill!

I've found squid eggs here and they are just a few (maybe 15 or so) and hidden in crevices in the rocks. Interesting how the "same" critter has a different laying behavior.

Tut tut...looks like rain...

Dives off for us tonight.

I'm planning on diving Vet's on Wed. after work - prefer earlier to later. If a SB crew wants to get organized, I'm game.
