Looking into getting opw certified. Any recommendations of LDS is LA....yelp seems to have mixed reviews.

You should contact Steve Millington at SoCAL Scuba Diving. He can do GUE Rec 1 and Padi OW courses. My friend recently completed GUE Rec 1 with him and thought he was fantastic.

There have been a few great shops and instructors posted above. You might want to tell us where in the LA area you live as it is a VERY big place!

As far as Sports Chalet or any other dive shop goes, it is really the instructor that makes the difference. Find yourself a good instructor you feel comfortable with.
