Thank you for a brilliant technical argument as to why THEY have proven split fins are better. It is hard to argue with such scientific evidence.

I will obtain some empirical evidence when I tryout some split fins in a week or so.

Excellent technical contribution.

Wait till I hand in my stack Absentee Ballots. We'll see who wins then.

Just watch for those "hanging chads"!

Thanks! Unlike some people on here that just throw around meaningless numbers and figures, I always back up what I say with real, hard, something you can wrap your arms around evidence. When I speak, people listen!

Like Big Pappa Pump use to say, "Holla if you hear me"!

One thing that never gets included in the "studies" is the type of kick used, the assumption is that everyone uses the same flutter kick.

rapidiver, that pic is classic, it totally defines an era!

Mares full foot paddle when I don't need boots. Light weight for travel. Quick to slip in and out of. I really like full foot fins for their convenience.

Atomic splits when I need to wear boots...like in a quarry or Bonaire. Why because that is what the dive shop sold me when I first walked in.

Actually, here's my favorite... the Foil Fin...

Nahhh... scratch that... my REAL favorite fin... The Beaver Fin...

No, no... my truly favorite, knee-slappin', I can't believe it's a fin, fin... The ShinFin...

Luvit! I'm lol! Now I'm off to search for more posts from BDSC. Let's give this guy a weekly column...

I voted for split fins and here is why!

Split Fins are far superior to Paddle Fins! It's not even close. All split fins are great and all paddle fins are pieces of crap! And....I have the scientific evidence to back up what I'm saying and here it is.

#1. They say split fins are better than paddle fins.

#2. Study after study shows that split fins are better than paddle fins.

Of course someone will come on here and say, "Who is They?" Well.....you know....they is just they. It's that group of people who says things from time to time. We all know who they are. They say this and they say that. I mean just how much more do you need to know about they.

And then people will want to know what are the studies. They will want to know who did the studies, when, where, etc. But studies are just studies. They are done all the time on all kinds of things. We all refer to them now and then. Are the details really that important? Isn't it enough to know that the studies are done.

But what really drives home my conclusion is that THEY did some Studies and found that split fins are better.

So there you have it folks. And for once I provided all the scientific data, facts, and solid evidence that I know what I'm talking about.

Just wait until I start quoting from the "Good Book". Those are really worth reading. I like to back up what I'm saying from the #1 best selling book of all time.

I own three pairs of fins and pretty much love them all ! It Depends on where I am diving and what I'm doing . The Scubapro Jet fin is the best fin ever made hands down . However I enjoy using split fins when I don't have to fight current or work underwater .
So if diving from a boat - small current - I would go with Scubapro Twin Jet
Shore diving with moderate conditions - I would use my Apollo Bio Fins
Any challenging conditions , surge , current , commercial duty's - Scubapro Jetfins
I couldn't vote as a vote for is a vote against the other , its like asking "who's your favorite child"
