come to think of it, Sogod Bay Resort may be a good choice after all. If the others would agree we can firm up our trip before the end of the month. I'll post the details on deposit once I receive Phil Mcguire's reply. We have until March 31, 2006 to confirm and remit.
Sounds good to me. Manhattandiver's trip report has got me drooling. Can't wait.

The owner of Sogod Bay resort is asking how many dives are you guys going to do?

Cottage (2 beds) - aircon $20/day
dive rate - $20 (3rd dive $18)

Well, my wife and I have decided on the following:

Arriving in the resort mid-day
Dec. 27 (first day) - 2-3 dives (including a night dive)
Dec. 28 (2nd day) - 4 dives
Dec. 29 (3rd day) - 2 dives morning (spend the afternoon spelunking/off-gassing)
Dec. 30 (last day) - fly out to Manila; late afernoon

I need your numbers (dives) please.

Still too early for me to nail down which day I am coming down but barring any extreme protests from the family to return for xmas, I might try heading out to PI before xmas and do of all the visayas dive sites. Anyways, I guess for the time being, you can put me down for at least 4divesx4 days (w/ option of 5 per day, time permitting). So say 27-30 fly out 31.

Put me down for the same. I hope to fly back to HK for New Year's celebrations, but I could be flexible.

As for not diving afternoon of 29th - I'm reasonably sure that low-altitude flight + 12 hour break should be more than enough...ergo you can dive in the PM if you want.

PADI's 24 hour rule (I believe) is based on double the accepted minimum of 12 hours, and that in turn is based on an international flight at 30-40,000 feet, rather than the 8-10,000 feet we might manage...

...anyone more knowledgable out there?

OTOH spelunking sounds dirty and fun.

Cheers,

If we were GUE trained, heck, we could be on plane while our hair is still wet...
