Sorido Bay Resort
Heart of Raja Ampat
Save $1,000 USD
We are trying to generate interest in travel to Indonesia assuming that the borders will open early this year (2021). We are teaming with our resort and liveaboard partners to offer even better deals starting this New Year. Starting with the highly rated Sorido Bay Resort and our 10-night group trip September 19-29, 2021, we are now offering a $1,000 USD discount. Published rate is 4,084€ / $4,960USD. Our discounted rate is now $3,960 USD per person double occupancy. $500 per person deposit requested. If borders do not open for this trip, I will refund deposits.

Package includes: 10-nights accommodation in a Sentani bungalow, all meals plus snacks, water, coffee, tea (sodas and alcoholic bevies not included), 3 boat dives per day and unlimited unguided jetty dives, free nitrox for certified divers, free laundry service, free Wi-Fi, use of kayaks and stand-up paddle boards, scheduled island transfers, and all taxes.
Additionally, if you have a buddy who wants to learn to dive or if you want to upgrade your certificate, we will pay for your course. Open Water, Advanced Open Water, EAN Nitrox.

Not workable for me, but I hope Indonesia opens up and people get to go.

Any idea how flexible refunds/reschedules are likely to be with airlines if the trip doesn't go? You can refund the deposit for the resort, but if someone has put out a couple grand in round trip airfare and a couple overnight hotel stays (1 going, 1 coming home), for example, any thoughts on what happens with that?

How far in advance of the trip do you usually book your travel arrangements?

If anyone's interested, there's a trip report by Laval. Paradise for Divers in Raja Ampat – Papua Diving – Sorido Bay Resort – Dec. 26, 2019 – Jan. 12, 2020. 2nd visit there, so he liked it the 1st time! He noted it’s at the heart of the Dampier Straight, ‘where the world’s richest reefs are,’ the house reef is Cape Kri, very small with max. 18 guests, has very comfortable conditions, a very spacious bungalow, personal camera room, a nice sand beach, close proximity to the best dive sites in Raja Ampat and great ‘guide to diver’ ratio. Per a website - Islander -

"Cape Kri
There is one of Raja Ampat’s iconic dive sites on the southwest of Kri island – Cape Kri. Divers love Cape Kri for its consistency in producing schools of reef fish; it holds the world record for the number of fish species recorded in a single dive – 374!"

Hi Rich,

We plan to pay extra to buy a ticket with for cancellation and rescheduling flexibility if we go before COVID is "over".
