Marin/Sonoma/Mendo divers. Please post any recent sightings of sea otters in your respective areas. Look closely at the hind flipper like feet and note the color(s)/ number of tags if present.
Unlike river otters that swim on their belly's with their head out of the water, sea otters will swim on their backs and float high in the water. The have flipper like feet with webbing to the ends of their toes which makes them rather awkward on land compared to the more weasel like river otter.
Bring your binoculars and keep an especially sharp eye out in coves between Reef Campground and Salt Point. Remember to note the color and number of tags present if you can.
Any information will be extremely important.
Thank you and happy diving everyone.
