I would say cvchief, its not worth debating the issue with you. I think your points are getting more and more ridicules and I think that your intent. FWIW, I tried the beer margaritas and they were OK...like mine without the beer!! Even at the risk of ingesting carbs...I am taking a hard stand against margarita mix. I suggest you try low carb beer!!!

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been shipped off to the Pub already.

That would be awful. Save post #1!

That was hurtful and a bit condescending... Gee, I'll try to stop responding to it now.... I would also hate to see the first part of the thread about etiquette and how to be polite lost to the pub. Our latter musings may have less practical value. And FWIW, I hope you are wrong about the margarita mix, it was a three bottle set on Amazon.

Sorry you found it hurtful and condecending, not my intent. With your replys going furtherer and furtherer over the top, I could not help but stop and think you were just egging the conversation for your own amusement.
Low carb set of 3 margarita mixs on Amazon......sounds like a bargain but still have to take a stand on something...I choose the anti margariata mix stand!

You know I am not sure of the zoning on this one. I *think* here we could have a bar and school in the business district. I'm not touching porno.... sorry. (can you smoke there?) So if you go to a friend's house and he lights a stogie, should we be able to arrest him too?

Sidewalk and street are owned by the public. Build a sidewalk from your house to your garage and drive on it all you want. Same for naked, as long as you aren't projecting that image to someone else.

Well I don't care about the smoker, I care about the owner of the establishment and his right to let the customer light that stogie. AND I support his right not to let him. And as for ruining meals, that being the case I want a law that say I can arrest the cook if my steak is NOT medium and ruins my meal! :D And as for the TX Legislature: is it still on the books that a good murder defense is "the som-b$%^& needed killin'"? :) And again you arent going to touch the argument about drinking vs. smoking?
Gordo, I just can't help it.... Stop! :) Can't we just schedule this over a beer?
I'm not going over to the drinking argument because it's a whole 'nother can of worms. Different issue, different situations, different compromises... just different. It's sort of like the folks who tell me that if I am against gun control (I'm not going there, either) then I must be a Republican because applying the "same logic" to other issues dictates certain positions on them. It isn't the same and I reserve the right to appear inconsistent.

The laws are full of limits on individual liberties to make conditions better for the public, and this is one of them. It doesn't make the restaurant owners do something that they don't want to do, anyway, it unifies them in a position most of them want to take. If there was a powerful restaurant union, they would have done it themselves and not bothered the legislature.

Hopefully you used a beer with the correct tropical flavor? Corona, Tecate, Dos XX, etc, work best. Not sure how the recipe would work with a Budweiser, PBR or Guiness...

I used Corona and then tried a 2nd batch with a Sol. There were quite a few in the friends involved in the taste test. The one we made with Sol we blended with ice for a frozen version. Most friends liked that a bit better than the on ice version of beer margaritas. I wonder if you can make a low carb version with Mickelob Ultra?

Okay, I'll add my 2 cents here ..... Normally, I'm not big on margarita mix at all - too much crap added in. However, I have found that Costco's Kirkland brand 'Premium Margarita Cocktail Mix' is pretty darn good! Made with real lime juice & cane sugar. As for price - I think it was under $4 for a 2 pack of 1.75 liter bottles. When I can't be in Coz having someone make me a real margarita from scratch, this stuff makes a great substitute!

And I have seen some Kirkland brand items in Mega .... so I wonder if they carry this stuff??? (Maybe for those staying in condos, or a large group and wanting to make their own 'ritas!)

Sir: You have cut me to the quick! I am at your dive knife point:swordfight:, you are a gentleman and I surrender. First round is on me!!

AND the marg mix came in. Reports to follow.....
