and we (Patrick and I) dove with @gypsyjim Jim and @02gluken his brother this last June 2024 and had a blast!
Great dives, buddy. Thank you Jim and Greg
We really enjoyed diving with you and Patrick, too.
My brother Dale's handle, though, is dbnewton, on SB

My apologies, I edit the post to show @dbnewton for Dale
Are you and Patrick planning on doing the Belize Invasion in 2025?.
If so, we hope to be there too, and would enjoy divi g with you again.

Hi Buddy Dive,

Do you allow solo diving from the Buddy Dive resort for solo certified divers with appropriate equipment? I see that you offer the PADI Self Reliant Diver course.

They responded:

Thank you for your email. Yes, we allow solo diving but highly recommend diving with a buddy.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,

I just had a direct chat with the senior diveshop person at Buddy Dive.
He confirms that solo is NOT allowed from the BD boats, and is NOT recommended from the BD dock or on off-site shore dives. Self-Reliant is taught upon request.
The policy was instituted after the death of Fiona Sharp in 2019.

Not recommended from the BD dock or shore dives is not prohibited by certified divers with required equipment.

I shouldn't care about this, I dive with Dive Friends and have never had a problem :)
