Solo certification

Just finished my check out dives for solo certification this weekend. Still planning on diving with buddies but just a little extra insurance and a little more practice never hurt

Our S&R was fun for me … contrary to what it’s supposed to be. Only part I really had a hard time with was we had to swim (mask only) two laps the length of the pool then dive down to the 15foot bottom and open the air on our tank valve … get our breath then put on all the rest of our gear..

I have a real hard time clearing my ears below 10 ft unless I’m on a tank

I did the same, last summer; when I was at 170 dives. Just got home from my 304th dive, about 45 total have been solo, a handfull have been night solo.

Being able to dive by yourself is VERY freeing. If you want to work on skills or whatever without boring a buddy, you can do it. If a buddy cancels, you don’t have to cancel your dives.
