TSandM:
Well, if I come visit you in Florida, I'll bring the little LED light :)
Actually, you just zap your compass or SPG and use the glow. That's all you need in FL. Most of us on the left coast are just too bright for Walter. ;)

I just ordered the Sea Elite 10W. I was really considering the Salvo 21W, but for now I went with the price difference.

I look forward to your review of this light. I have them on my short list but wondered about quality and support when compared to what I read about Dive Rite. Although I see some complaints, most of it is pretty positive for Dive Rite.

Please keep us posted.

What are the temps, Bob?
55 degrees Fahrenheit at present ... about as warm as it gets ...

You are hereby obligated to write us all a nice review of this light. Lives depend on it, man!!! Well okay maybe not but you'll be the first I know of to write a detailed review...pleeeeeeeeze??

thanks

I've never had a can light before, so I'll be comparing it to nothing - how much of an expert review is that?

Didn't stop me when I got mine. If I waited until I knew anything before I posted, my post count would be 2. :D

Just an update -- I bought my light (Nite Rider, 10W HID with 6 deg dispersion) and I have used it three times to date.

Positives: Sealed battery case, no risk of having it come open and flood. Small lighthead, fits nicely on my hand. Very bright. Easy to figure out how to use and charge. Sits nicely on the waistband of my BCD where it is accessible for turning on and off. Charges very quickly.

Negative: One only. The beam is not as focused as I would have liked. I was warned this was possible with the 6 deg dispersion bulb. It is still useable for signalling, but not nearly as good as, for example, Bob's Terkel light when tightly focused.

Overall, I'm happy I chose this one, for the reasons I chose it.

Glad you're happy with the Nite Rider. Enjoy!

Oh...I took a look at your website last noc. Would you believe that you have a pic of one of my front doors in there? Wierd...it is a small world, indeed!
