There is a motel almost next to Birds. I cannot remember its name, so that doesn't do any good. Look up Birds address and then search for a motel that has close to the same address.

Birds does rent gear, I will need to rent everything for my grandson.

There is a Days Inn motel a couple of miles north of Birds on Hwy 19. Room rate for a double is $59 a night plus taxes and fees. I have reservations there for Saturday night. Do a Google search for Days Inn motel, Crystal River, FL.

From Birds Website, I am guessing we are the 6:15 am one. Man that is gonna be early leaving home before the sun comes up

Tours begin at 6:15 a.m.​

Due to the high number of requests for afternoon Manatee Swims and the wonderful conditions, we have begun running an additional manatee tour at 11:00 a.m. However, these midday tours do not have the same chance of finding manatees as our morning tours. We encourage people to come early, especially on the weekends, because conditions are usually better in the morning (before other boats are on the water and before the manatees move away from the springs to feed).
