Yes for the most part. I want overall bulk and weight to be a minimum. Just super picky haha

The picture in your link shows what I took to be stitch marks,

It has a sewn edge. The UL plate is very thin, my guess it is neutral buoyancy once wetted. It is not at all like the padded BC jackets you may be thinking of. About the same thickness as a metal plate.

I am looking to make the tiniest, lightest BP/W system I possibly can. I am 5'7", 140lb, but lean to the point where I need little to no weight in warm waters.

Have you considered purchasing an old blow-molded plastic backpack? One of the "newer" ones that have a nylon webbing (rather than a SS) tank band. Probably $5-$10 from Play It Again Sports or eBay. I believe Eric used one of these backpacks as a model for his Freedom Plate's profile. Fit the small wing of your choice.
