Yes for the most part. I want overall bulk and weight to be a minimum. Just super picky hahaI'm confused then. Are you primarily interested in decreasing weight and volume in your luggage?

It has a sewn edge. The UL plate is very thin, my guess it is neutral buoyancy once wetted. It is not at all like the padded BC jackets you may be thinking of. About the same thickness as a metal plate.The picture in your link shows what I took to be stitch marks,
I am looking to make the tiniest, lightest BP/W system I possibly can. I am 5'7", 140lb, but lean to the point where I need little to no weight in warm waters.
