Just out of curiosity, why do you care about the difference in diameter?
Just trying to get a feel for the actual size of the G250. I'm familiar with the s600/555/295's but haven't actually had my hands on a G250.

We're looking for new regs (changing from Sherwood Classics - I want/need a second HP port and if I get new regs, so does she). Whichever 2nds we go with will be mated to Mk17's. She wants a second stage that is smaller and lighter that what she's been using (the s600/555's are) and I'm trying to determine how G250v compares in size to what she's been diving and what we're both familiar with.

Right now we're leaning towards the s555 for her and the G250v for me - I've always wanted an adjustable 2nd (ever since they came out, no real reason, just always wanted one) and she doesn't really care, as long as it breathes nice. We know the s555 is OK for her, just not sure about the G250v. I'd get G250v's for both of us, but she's concerned about the size/weight (I know it'll be basically neutral u/w) and I want her to be happy too.

Clearer?

Yes, but you said:

"The 600 is slightly smaller, has some metal parts to it rather than all plastic,...."

Implying that the 250V was all plastic, which it is not.

Yes, but the S600 has readily visible cosmetic metal attachments while the G250V only has useful and functional metal components that are, for the most part, inside where they can't be seen and adored.:D

Attached is a G250v next to a R295 and a tape measure.
