So did the winds calm and the weather co-operate for you?

Carolyn:

Actually the wind did die down on Thursday, or was it Friday?

But the current really kicked up then.

It was actually so windy early in the week that you did not have to look for the boat. All you had to do was get close and listen for the ladders banging and follow the noise.

We will be back in three weeks, when are you getting in? Saturday I assume?

See you then.

I will try to look up the article, but I remember reading (perhaps in Alert Diver or Scuba Diving)that taking a hot shower or sitting in the hot tub immediately after multiple dives or long/deep dives was seen as a factor in quite a few "undeserved" DCS hits (ie hits where the dive profiles were otherwise within normal limits and didn't include rapid ascents or yoyo dives). The speculation is that the rapid warming of the skin and blood near the skin surface causes the gases to expand before they have a chance to offgas slowly.

Yes I heard that too which is why in my 36 trips to LCM so far I have yet to shower.

Glad you are taking it seriously nipi...but the real risk is hot showers or dips in the hot tub within a short time after the dive. If you either wait an hour or two or take a warm but not hot shower, you have very little to worry about. Now please...everybody would appreciate it if you would go ahead and take a shower...

;)
