I’ve found the side the transmitter is on is irrelevant. I’ve also found the 6” HP hose is also irrelevant. I have my transmitter on my right protected by my two LP hoses which route above it on both of my primary reg sets (AL Legend Elite & DR XT1/4). It connects without issue to both a computer on my left & my right wrist (I dive with two computers).
I also run 2 AI computers with my transmitter directly connected on the right side. No problem with connections.

I have an SPG on the left side, runs to my left chest D-ring. I have used the SPG on several occasions over the years

Thanks - good to know you've found no signal reception issues regardless which side. TBH I'd be surprised if Shearwater etc didnt make them powerful enough to reach both arms :D

Interesting POV regarding your redundant SPG, thanks! I guess I'll have to see how it goes. Aside from some deep channel currents and occasional reef hooks I'm (so far) not doing anything particuarly adventurous and the surface is almost always available - so perhaps AI-only is reasonable for my usage.

So I've moved the SPG to my right-side HP port and will clip to my right-side waist D-ring, and added the SwiftAI on a 6" HP hose to my left-side HP port, so it pokes out over my left shoulder. The only downside I immediately see is I have a busy side of 3 longish hoses (40" primary, 22" alternate, 30" SPG) on my right and only 2 short hoses (22" wing inflator, 6" AI) on my left, and the 1st stage looks and feels lopsided when not mounted to the tank. Another upside that occurs to me is now I can access tank pressure info with either hand if I really need to.
I also have an FT1 and a transmitter on the way. Does the transmitter actually fit on the first stage without the 6" hose? Direct mount would be my preference, but wondering if I should order a 6" hose (in order to have all the bits before my next trip).

I made 1200 dives with this set up.

It's very colorful.

Number of in-water failures of:

1) SPG?
2) Xmitter?
3) IP gauge?

Zero.

Transmitter’s battery was replaced after 1150 dives.

IP gauge is only used to check for regulator lP creeping or not. Once the regulator is installed onto a tank & IP is on spec & no creeping, then up gauge would be removed and stored. The red hose would be used for inflating DSMB.

That's an interesting question, I hadn't even thought of that! I just took a look at my reg set and I'd say no, there's not enough clearance between the HP and LP ports for the mounted Swift to fit without clashing with a LP hose. Sorry!

In any case I'd say it's safer to put it on a 6" HP hose to discourage deckhands from picking up the tank by the transmitter.

Both PPS and SWIFT transmitters mount directly onto my Dive Rite, Aqua Lung Legend and Aqua Lung Mikron regs. Perhaps there are some where they don't fit, but I see them directly mounted as much as I see them on a short hose.

It that a Dive Rite XT1 or an FT1 first stage? I'm looking at my FT1 on my desk and I very much doubt the Swift would be able to attach without clashing with the LP hoses
