This weekend was a nice weekend for diving, as the seas were calm and the water is warm. The visibility was not spectular, but I'm not complaining, because we have it pretty good here in South Florida.
On Saturday, I joined a few of my regular rebreather diving buddies and we headed down to Miami and dove with RJ Diving Ventures (RJ Diving Ventures - The Best Wreck and Reef Diving in Miami) out of Miami. On the first dive, we dove the Wreck of the Tacoma, which sits in approximately 135 feet of water, and on the second dive, we dove the Belcher Wreck Trek, which consists of several barges and tugs in approximately 65 feet of water.
On Saturday evening, we met up for dinner with Joe Cocozza from Pod Diver Radio (poddiver.net). Joe regularly records shows pertaining to the wonderful world of diving and recently got certified on his new Evolution Rebreather, so he decided to come down to South Florida and speak with us Florida S.C.R.U.B.'s divers, because we are well known for being an active group of rebreather divers. At dinner, Joe recorded our conversation for a future episode on Pod Diver Radio.
On Sunday morning, we dove in Pompano Beach aboard the Avid Diver (http://www.aviddivercharters.com/). Joe Cocozza joined us on this trip and we dove the wreck of the Jim Atria, which sits in approximately 130 feet of water, then we drifted a Pompano Beach reef in approximately 45 to 60 feet of water.
We had some great dives, and even though the visibility was only about 40 to 45 feet max on the dives, as usual, I had my point and shoot camera on hand, so I could bring some photos to everyone on Scubaboard that wasn't with us on the dives.
Here's a few shots of us diving on the Wreck of the Tacoma on Saturday morning's first dive.
Here's a few shots I took on Saturday morning's second dive - The Belcher Wreck Trek was a lot of fun!
Here's a couple of pictures from Saturday evening's dinner with Joe from Pod Diver Radio.
Part two continued on next post...
