Sadly there are always thieves around but in the last week there has been an increase in thefts from dive stores, personal vehicles and beach locations.

Several stores have had a group come in, purposely occupy the clerk or clerks while others in the group steal high end masks, lights, and other gear.

Perhaps the same thieves took a complete set of equipment from a pick up truck parked briefly in a very public parking lot in broad daylight.

We all know we have to be smart about leaving items unattended but these folks are practiced at creating the opportunity to steal. Be on your guard.

At one of the thefts some of the scumbags were seen to get into an old red pick up truck. They claimed to be visiting from the Big Island. That, of course, is probably not true.

Sorry to hear those things. Unfortunatelly those things are common in Argentina where I live. We are used to take extreme care of our things. This has a cost, of course, in your health, in your wallet, in your time, in your happiness, in your freedom, etc.
