Ordered the Kubi dry fit gloves but they sent two right hands...I can swap one out but kinda of annoying right off the bat. This is my first time trying to use the Kubi system and having trouble getting the gloves on the suit. Watched a bunch of videos and everone seems to just pop them on without issue. When I try to slide the glove side onto the suit side, the black o-ring on the suit side pops off and over to the glove side. Tried it 4 times and it happened each time. What am I doing wrong?

Lining up the glove to the suit:

O-ring on the suit side jumping out of the suit groove and over to the glove side as I continue to push the glove on:

Your black o-ring is not fully seated into the groove. Work on pressing it in while pulling the inner ring out. I had this happen after cleaning them awhile back but found out with my suit on and kit on my back...

The other thing that will help is a bit of spit rubbed onto the glove side red o-ring. Kubi recommends against silicone grease but I used that for over 1 year. Now I just lick my thumb and run that over the red o- ring before donning

Kubi recommends using their NarkOx oil for the rings since they say that other oils may cause the rings to swell. It's not cheap but you only need a drop rarely.

In the US, the cheapest I've found it was:

For those buying their suits from Seaskin, you can get it directly from them can add it to your order to avoid extra shipping

I don't have nearly the experience with the suit and rings that @Boarderguy does, so if he says that spit works fine and he didn't have any problems with silicone grease, I'd trust his experience. I'm just passing along the Kubi recommendations.

I used silicone until I read that I wasn't supposed to. That was maybe one year and about 45-50 dives. The last 50+ over 7 months have been some spit on my thumb. I might replace the red glove side o-rings sometime this year for preventative maintenance.

I got 1/2 way through reading this and thought Rolock 90's might be easier🤣 :poke:

The entire time I was wondering when you'd chime in
Sorry.. was too busy diving dry without some weird silicone, spit, oil blend and haven't really been paying attention 😁

Tried my suit on for the first time today and have a few questions:

1) My Nova suit has the warm neck but my hood is a bit too long and bunches up under the warm neck. I assume folks are trimming the base of their hood so it sits flush under the neck?

2) I wasn't sure what size gloves to buy with my Kubi dry gloves so I got the XL and XXL AlphaTech gloves with my suit. I don't have massive hands but with a thin under glove even the XXL feel pretty snug. Can someone suggest what/where to buy replacements gloves in the USA? Have read a few places on here but many of the links I found were old. Worried I might need a thicker under glove or thicker rubber glove for 6-8 hours in 45F (7C) water. Maybe I'll get a pot of ice water and leave my hands in for an hour to test it out.

3) I managed the the Kubi O-rings off with a metal pick but it was sketchy. Tried a zip tie and a 3D printed pick I made but neither worked. Any suggestions on a pick to leave in my kit?

4) Whats the correct lubricant for the YKK Plastic Dry Zip? My understanding it to only out a little at the end of the zipper and it will self lubricate from that.

Just got mine. Also went with black and yellow.
Cost me 1352€ + 297€ taxes + 20€ UPS customs fee) to send to Spain.
Really happy with how the custom logo turned out... if they didnt stitch it upside down. :acclaim:
Went with
  • SiTech cuffs
  • Comfort patch (missing? Has the velcro but no patch)
  • Trigon peevalve
  • Thinsulate 150 undersuit
Ordered on july 3rd, got dispatch date 30th of august, was dispatched on the 30th of august. Got stuck in customs for two days and had to change it to a pickup point where i picked it up today.

Ive send them an email about the logo and missing comfort patch but yeah, not going to send it back for that.

Will post more pics and probably some questions once i tried it.
