You dive mostly from shore or boat?

That's awesome if you can 150' straight from shore!
Shore 99% of the time. We can hit 100 with no effort in the sound. 120-130 is easy in the right spots. 150 in minimal current requires a scooter for the drop. We did a 150 descent with a bouy line reference into the abyss. It was nuts. Now that I've done it we're going back to accrue real deco time and explore the bottom.

We all know the pic with the depth was really just to show off the Kubi's... had to get them both in the same shot huh? Lol:)

That's awesome. I wish we had something like that around here... I'm grateful for what I do have, but the shore is at such a slope you have to head out ~ 10 miles before you see 80'.

My local hole is 58' into the mud, and anything below 45' get's pretty smoky and most people don't like it, lol.

That's why I didn't do much diving when I was in Virginia. Shore diving was meh and I couldn't afford boats. I also wasn't all that into so there is that lol

I just got my confirmation email today, and I have to send in a couple of measurement corrections, and I am in deep debate if I should do the add extra room option. I am shorter with a bigger midsection and thighs. I believe I saw somewhere in this thread, that the extra space option is something like 4cm across the chest, 2 on the biceps etc. Are there any of the bigger fellas who got a suit and regret not getting the extra room option? I ordered a 150 and 250 undergarments along with the suit, but I just can't decide the right way to go for this.

It's not bad for a completely custom suit. Not just custom size but custom everything. You can get a suit off the shelf and I did. I regret it. Spend the money and time once and you will be happy.
I will say the three months it took sucked. Everyday I was hoping it would show up early. That first and second dives and it was so worth the wait and the cost
I saw your post a ways back when you got your suit. With choosing the extra allowance for undergarments, any regrets of the little bit of extra room?

I'm under the theory that it matters how you measure. Someone posted a while back (not sure who to give credit to) to measure multiple times throughout a week and go with the largest of all your measurements. If you did that then maybe "extra room" isn't necessary?

I did not do that. I went to a tailor and had measurements done (once). I am super glad that I got the extra room, but I also dive mostly cold water (high 30's / low 40's all winter long). The extra room to me has never felt "too big" and there's even a few times where I wished it was just a hair bigger in some parts (but maybe the tailor measured me on a slim day or more for a suit??... not really sure)

I hope that helps at least some

Extra space if you need it for fluffy undergarments is fine but you may end up with extra bubble if you defluff.

Thanks.. Having always been a bigger guy, made to measure has never been something I have dealt with, so I am still in the go bigger just in case frame of mind which I just need to trust the measurements sounds like.

Trust them, I’m 6’5” and now 228 this morning, was 235 when I ordered my first Seaskin in ‘14, my weight has drifted up and down over the years but all 3 suits still fit fine. I don’t dive fluffy hollow fill so I’m glad I didn’t opt for extra room and after off the shelf stuff that was way oversized just to match my height the custom is a real treat.

If anything fudge to the bigger end of the measurements wearing normal cool weather street clothes.

I layer with undergarments using wool and fleece but I don’t dive in super cold water like Rob does because F that! If you are diving locally in the frozen puddles you may want to survey the locals for their insulation choices, observe how they are dressed in cooler weather to see if they wear stuff like you’re wearing to get a feel for their cold tolerance compared to you.

its a journey going dry so you just have to make a decision and take the first step.
