Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

Just as a quick follow up to the undersuit, Seaskin took it back and gave a full refund. No complaints on the customer service, very pleased with the outcome.
I’ve a Waterproof Nord 200 undersuit and the fit is perfect. Really well made and great cut. Should work well all year round for me.
Only four dives so far, all dry. Initial thoughts -

• Had to trim the silicone neck seal as it was much too tight. Might change to Waterproof Neoprene version.
• It's heavier and the material is stiffer than I thought it would be (first drysuit so no real point of reference).
• Tech boots are great with the velcro ankle straps.
• Braces (suspenders) keep slipping out of the pinch clips so need a solution to this as this is very irritating.
• P Valve tube is annoying even though I have the velcro tidy. I'll not be using it so can the hose be removed from a Light Monkey Tinkle?
• Maybe should have gone for a brass zip as I'm not convinced the plastic YKK is robust enough - time will tell.

For what you get, the price is hard to beat. I think it's a good first suit for me.

Keep a spare neck seal with you, it will be needed at some point, the neoprene from waterproof is great, costly but worth it.

for the suspenders slipping just tie a knot In the loose end or around itself just before the buckle.

if you aren’t going use the pee valve just remove and put a blank in the hole but you should start using it because it will increase your enjoyment of life in general. You can also just let the tube go where it will rather than bunching it up with the unnecessary “tidy” it’s likely you won’t even notice it.

brass zips are not more robust than the plastic ones and are a lot harder to zip.

I got some suitably sized tri-slides to put on the suspenders to stop that.

I.e. something like this (not necessarily the right size):

A buddy has his clips on backwards and they weren't grabbing. He switched them to the way mine came and all was good

Mine are on right ways. But they still slip out and come loose sometimes. Or, they did until I put tri-slides on. Same for the crotch strap.

I upgraded to the larger braces. Maybe the larger ones are less prone to slipping.

Maybe you should keep that ruler, I've got a pretty good idea where you can stick it...jk

I’ve never had trouble with the braces slipping out of that clip, when does that happen? The plastic zip is definitely robust enough…the early plastic zips were not.

Sure, just turn off the valve, and remove the hose.

I agree with the above that you should try to figure out what the problem is, as having the pee valve accessible makes life on a boat or very long dives so much better.

If done correctly, all you should feel is some initial nervousness about letting go.

Can we discuss the undergarments or should I start a new post.. or is their one and my search skills are south?

If so.. first question out the gate. If I ordered it today... lets say the 150undergarment. Any idea on time to be sent and get here?
