Well, as a DM, I don't make jokes or say anything about someone's gear. It leaves you open to the same from other DM's. I use the the Scubapro Go fins. Love them!!! I have other fins but have found that I never need them. They work well in current and in surge conditions. If the current is strong, really doesn't matter the fin length, you're goin' for a ride! Use what you are comfortable with.
I don't want to portray the DM unfairly. He is half my size, so he thought his using fins twice the size of mine was funny. He didn't make any judgement or comment about the effectiveness of the fins, just that we looked silly next to each other.

It was a different DM who said she used to have the same fins as me and I really liked them but had to switch to deal with the current when she got to Puerto Galera. That was after it was obvious to both of us that I was struggling to keep up with her.

If you love the "ScubaPro Go" fins, please specify if you mean the "Go Sport Gorilla", "Go Sport" or "Go Travel" as these are all different.

Now that you have the supers nova’s you can buy/borrow some S Tek blades. If you weren’t half way around the world I would loan you some.
I do like the idea of being able to swap out the blades for the S-Tek if/when I use a drysuit or push doubles. Not sure I'll ever do that, mind :D but it's nice to have the option

I think you may find the S blades would feel more like the Go/GoSport in use and negate the feel you describe, that said the super are in my opinion the better all around fin.

Go Sport.

The Go Sport Gorilla are my 'go to ' fins for most dives now. And the orange fins are mine on the local boats, never seen another pair.

Mine are white and no one carries them on the boats or in the classes we hold.

They did offer to let me test the force fins against the Supernovas in a pool, which I was happy to agree to, but then they said I needed a size XL Supernova. On the ScubaPro size chart, I am between a M and L, so this worries me. They never heard of a S-Tek fin, and they don't stock Gorillas, since they know which fins are best and only stock those.

I wear M US10 Mares 2 mm booties w Go Sport Gorilla size M fins and SuperNova/S-Tek size M open heel foot pocket. For me the size L are too big and there is too much play in the foot pocket. I don't think the XL size is correct for your foot size unless maybe you're wearing a rock boot w drysuit. The modular system size M foot pocket uses a different blade size than the size L foot pocket.

If you're a photog you might like the stiffer fins. The Supernovas a bit more flexible which may make it a bit more challenging to hold position or make minute position changes, especially back kicks. White fins are useful for setting white balance underwater.

I am between a M/L based on ScubaPro's website, which is why I went to a local store to try these on, and why I was surprised they told me I needed an XL.

I've only been considering open heel fins, because that seems like most 'serious' fins. The quarry is 58F at depth and I spent 2 full days in the water with these fins. I was cold, but my feet weren't cold, neither were my hands and I've never worn gloves. Should I be looking at full foot fins? For warm water and lesser current, I am very happy with my Go Travel fins.
