In the effort to provide field testing for the good of the scuba public I stupidly ran over my Go-Sport fins. I had put them on top of the tire while I unlocked the truck. So then of course forgot I had put them there. So I back out and feel a bump, hmmm. Then I pull forward and feel another bump, hmmm, wonder what that could be. Undeterred I back out again and felt another bump and then continued out of the parking area at Datura (Lauderdale by the Sea). Still curious as to what the bump may have been I look in my rearview mirrors to see a woman with two fins chasing after me down the road yelling "palmes, vous palmes" or something like that. I stop and a bit winded she catches up and gives me my Go-Sports proudly. Her husband/bf/SO also catches up and in the best redneck English I have ever heard thanking me for the parking space. I had motioned them to my spot when I pulled out.
So then, how are the Go-Sports after having been run over three times, apparently just fine. I used them the next day on the Wreck Trek and the current was sufficiently strong it flattened my mask to my face and kept sweeping my strobe arms back. I could make headway but barely. But then neither could anyone else. The Goliath groupers were coming in nicely.
