Advanced Divers - Please state which 3 skills that you may need a refresher on

Not new things to learn.

I still can't swim backwards. :D
Just backpaddle with your hands and hope no DIR guys are watching. :)

---------------------

Even after all low level of mechanics of diving are learned and internalized, there is still a lot to learn in buddy skills, overall situational awareness, and general dive management. That's where my focus is these days, not on how fast or efficiently I can swim backwards.

Me either.

New skills
1. swim backwards
2. depoly smb
3. minor regulator repair (not a skill underwater, but a skill!)

Refresher
1. always buoyancy
2. resuce - towing an unconcious diver and removing their equipment
3. ascending while buddy breathing

Tell me about it.

If you ever see a strange washing machine-ish area of turbulence on the water's surface, that's me working on my back-kick during my stop.

Ok I suppose I consider my self an advanced diver. I think the skills I would most like to master are how to get someone to carry my dive gear, and maybe how to pay for it.

Does this count?

Brent

1. Buoyancy control.
2. Navigation.
3. Rescue.

TSandM:
1. Mask off diving, and mask replacement and clearing. I don't like it, and I'm not nearly as good at it as I ought to be. I spent a half hour in our pool the other night practicing, trying not to lose control of my depth while replacing and clearing my mask.

I heard that if a DIR-F instructor finds out that one of his student is not confortable with his/her mask off you end up doing most of the class maskless...

Is it true or is it just an urban legend ???

Just to avoid any misunderstanding I am not saying that you did not deserve to pass your DIR-F, I was just curious how you manage to go through it...
