Uncle Pug:
This is still Biblical days... but poxing or smoting is not something entrusted to the likes of PADI. :D
sorry my mistake :)

scubadoguk:
What can they do, PADI took him to court ? you seem to think that there is a special type of law for scuba, PADI can't enforce any different law than anyone else can.
You have the anecdote make of it what you will, sorry to say they can not strike him with a pox or smote him with thunder as in the biblical days, what would you have them do ?
Hey dude,
I am not making any anecdotes or tring to be very smart
Go back, read the whole thread and you'll see that I said from the beginning that Padi can't do anything and then you came along upset saying that they care and do a lot. Now you are saying they can't do anything too.
So appearantly you agree with me that Padi can't force anyone to do anything, so I am asking you where is the problem :06:

It's really a small point, but since PADI is a registered trademark, PADI would at least be in a position to make a claim against a person who misuses or uses the trademark without permission, (says they are PADi and are not, or who uses the PADI name on a website to advertise for PADi certifications, when in fact, they are not at the time a PADI member).

I agree with you there but enforcing it is a completely different story:wink:
I think we are all aware of the fact that you can buy fake c-cards of all agencies(Padi, SSI, CMAS, etc) It is a problem all over the world and especially in tourist destinations.

Reminds me of a Monty python sketch, the argument one seems that by replying you get deeper into it, look that is what happens PADI can't make it right, no one can but stores can offer to help the people, the law is only able to do XYZ, the store can only sadly say wish it had not happened, PADI or the original store give the guy as much help as they are lawfully allowed to do, again I will ask what do YOU think they should do.

I am sorry that you appearantly are unwilling even to try to understand what I'm saying. you only repeat all the time: tell me what they could do, tell me what they should do................... It really sounds a little like the whining of an old women from the Life of Brian.
I will repeat again and for the last time that I don't expect them to do anything and never expected. They may be helpful in resolving a dispute and helping someone to get his c-card and they may go to court but in the end they can not enforce anything and if an instructor isn't Padi anymore, tell me please what can they really do.
Lets not BS around about who said what and about your experiences but please tell me what could Padi do in this particular case, described in this thread, to force the instructor to comply. As fish_bowl said, they were offering couple of ways to help but in the end couldn't do anything to get the instructor moving.
So I will ask you again, what can Padi do to force this particular instructor to comply?
And if you'll say: nothing, I'll have to ask you what are we arguing about? :06:
By the way, Did you notice that we are almost the only ones still arguing about a case that appears to be resolving? Doesn't it appear like beating a dead horse to get it moving? :D

For the record whining (with one n) is the present participle of whine.

Whinning would need the addition of a y as in whinnying and is the sound that a horse makes.

hmmm....

I would not say we are arguing I would call it debating, the lady/gent wants his money back PADI can't get it the law can.
The only reason PADI would be involved is to protect the trade mark they don't get into the working of stores no money there.
Me, I reply to wind up people :11:

Thanks for the correction, Uncle Pug.
English isn't my native language  I'll correct it immediatly to whining :D

I Have Talked To Padi.. They Are Trying.. But He Does Not Return Calls.. And He Keeps Saying That He Has Sent Stuff But They Still Have Not Got Anything. We Have Been Talking Back And Forth.. It Just Is Starting To Feel Hopeless.. I Think I Migh Thave To Talk To Lawman.. :)

Based on your story only, which I presume is a fair telling, your being much too patient. Call the police ASAP. He took your money, did not deliver promised goods and serices, and that's what we call theft in Texas. Bet they do there, too.

You should not have to hire a lawyer. The police should help for free. If your local officials lean on him, maybe he'll focus on your solution faster.

I'm diving your area the first of Sept. Hope I don't beat you to it.
