Has anyone created, used, or found a "Buddy" release form? There are tons of release forms that indemnify boats, resorts, instructors etc. SSI even has one that released operators from liability for allowing you to dive solo. BUT.... I have not been able to find one that indemnifies one buddy with another. What happens if your "insta-buddy" has an event / accident / fatality during your dive? I would appreciate thoughts or resources on this topic, especially from any scuba diver attorneys out there. TIA.... Scotty

So... an alternate question.... Anyone seen a liability release that includes the divers from suing each other?

Bro, if you have to worry about that just don't dive. Nor get in a car with anyone else, or drive anyone in your car. Because driving and being driven in cars is FAR more dangerous.

Good luck with that one - in getting anyone to sign and having it provide any protection.

Since I would generally expect nothing from an insta-buddy situation, I'd happily sign a waiver of liability if reciprocal.

ETA: I expect nothing, doesn't mean I'd offer nothing.

Not needed, as a BSAC member I have insurance if my buddy, or relatives, sued me.
