Peter Maas - The Terrible Hours: The Man Behind the Greatest Submarine Rescue in History ISBN 0-06-019480-4

The Count of Cape Hatteras series. Two novels based on a young man who dreams of establishing a dive charter business on Hatteras Island, but is set up by a close friend while traveling to a Caribbean resort to take a divemaster course. Long story short, he is in prison for 16 years, escapes with connections to a massive fortune, then makes his way back to the Outer Banks of North Carolina where he plots his revenge. Yes, yes, it's basically a modern day, Americanized version of The Count of Monte Cristo. You can check it our on Amazon, Kindle, or Carolina Breeze > Featured Articles Hope this isn't spamming, as I am the author. I hate spammers, but love diving. Just don't know the rules around here yet because I just signed on a few days ago. Anyway, if you read it, hope you enjoy!

Oops, double post

Local (Catalina) SCUBA instructor Chris Blehm recently published his first novel, Mercy of the Elements. There is a thread about it here on SB.

Just bumping up this thread with "The nautical chart" by Arturo Perez-Reverte. For the lazy ones, there's also a film made in 2007

Clive "Hussler" is a hit and miss with me but still has the most to offer for an action based scuba read....

I keep wanting to pick up the book's on the K-129 and other cold war style book's not really dive realated but still its about deep wrecks!

I've read most of his books, i consider them good "plane" books. Simple plots that you don't need to think about, writing that's easily absorbed without reading, but interesting enough for those times when you can't sleep. Good for the multitude of long plane trips i take. Most of modern books though seem to be ghost written, and to me the quality of writing has suffered immensely.

I've also recently read "Dead Man's Silver" - which is a history of Hughs adventures while discovering a number of Treasure Ships off Australia and Asia

Dead Men's Silver: The Story of Australia's Greatest Shipwreck Hunter by Hugh Edwards

Really really interesting read. I should do a review on it as I doubt it's easy to find outside of Australia.

Just finished Kathy Brandt's "Swimming with the Dead" and liked it a lot.

Hopefully, I'll be able to add my own book to this thread soon!
