With thinner bungie, you can 'lock' it in the groove between the head and the body.

Sorry if I seem stupid, but who's WYTD? A search for the username "WYTD" comes up with nothing.
Sorry I'm such a dunce about this... I've not shopped lights.

On the wkpp site looking at GI's kit he uses some tank neck orings to secure the scout lights.
Might be better than the elastic ?
I still use the elastic on my Halcyon harness but I use PTek 40's instead of scouts so the elastic is quite loose as the body of the torch is flatter.

If You want something with a little more light than the Scout, LP sells the UK D8 for $50.00.

I just checked out some of the stuff that Halcyon offers... The lights there...
I really like the NiMH batteries. They seem small and a really great idea.
I then looked at size, made a decision as to what I think I might like, and then decided on a light head. For kicks, I decided on the middle-ground HID light.
Total: almost $1400!
Holy smokes!
Yowza... That's a lot of diving that I'd have to give up simply to have a light.
Forget that, man. Sheesh!
