Walter:
I'm not rubbing it in, I just love diving the Eagle. My only regret is I have so few dives on it, I'd love to dive it as often as I did when it first went down.

All ONE HUNDRED TWELVE DIVES!!!!!!

Walter:
Yeah, but only 6 since the turn of the century. I made that many dives on it in February of '86.

and I think I have been lucky enough to be on 4 of those 6 dives with Walter....always adds to the fun when someone can show you around the cooool places....

oohh...also good to see some familiar faces over the weekend and meet many more for the first time.....will definately be up for another "Invasion" next year (unless I've been kicked out the county by then :) )

I stuck a couple of photos on the following site if anyone is interested:

Excuses, Excuses! Yes, the boat broke, but that didn't interfere with our fun. Cap't McGuyver fixed the boat and we had the most awesome dive on the Eagle, along with our friends from the shop's other boat. It was really cool, seeing everyone doing free ascents, just casually floating around the line. You missed the knife fight between Chip and Jenny, as well as Jenny lifting Moonies from MissD. Best dive of the weekend, as far as I'm concerned!

The Saturday psychos on the Republic VII definitely owe a vote of thanks to Capt Al aka “MacGuyver.” You can use my knowledge of marine engines to fill a very small thimble, but the problem seemed to be something like “air in the fuel line due to a bad fitting that totally failed at the first attempt to fix it.” At least this was what I understood from the very colorful language that issued from the bilge. I then watched this guy scavenge a hose from the head, craft an adapter by cutting off both ends of a cyalume stick and slap it together with an o-clamp, wire ties and tape. And it worked. As Joyce stated, the Eagle dive more than made up for less than ideal conditions on the Speigle Grove Friday afternoon. At any rate, a hearty “YOU ROCK AL.”

Thanks for your replies to my request for photos about the Eagle, especially HowardE and Irishman, great stuff!

In addition to my site at www.eaglewreck.info, I have now created a Wiki about the Eagle at http://eaglewreck.wiki.xs4all.nl .

The advantages of a Wiki are of course that it is much easer to maintain and that everybody can add stuff to it.
So I would like to invite all of you have dived the Eagle to add your stories, photos, videos etc at http://eaglewreck.wiki.xs4all.nl . To prevent anonymous vandalism, it is necessary to create an account first, I'm sorry for that little bit of inconvenience.

Happy diving,
Bart

I have a story or two, time to break out the old logbooks......

It's not in 120 feet of water.

HEy everyone I have not used photobucket before so I hope this works.

I had a great time with you guys and I hope that soon we can all do something together agin.

I am glad the pirate theme went over well. Too bad I forgot that I suggested it!
