I wanted to hear how his experience with the F1s went. I just switched to XL Slipstreams for drysuit use, but they are super nice with the wetsuit as well.

I tried some L Jets and I'm surprised I didn't sink to my doom! And that I could get them off without a cutting torch, but we almost had to call it in.

Peace,
Greg

I think his fins work so well, he has finned back to Japan. :) Has anyone seen or heard from Miller?
Was in Hawaii last week :D

Sadly I haven't had a chance to get in the water with them. But I have a trip planned this weekend so I will be trying it out then.

So got a chance to try them out yesterday. I did some boat diving so got to have that fun in doubles :D

First dive: ow ow ow ow ow, what are these 2x4s attached to my feet, ow ow ow ow ow, at least I can actually move myself forward in the frog kick, ow ow ow ow ow, hmm frog kick feels a little weird, ow ow ow ow ow, surface kicking still sucks, ow ow ow ow ow

Second dive: frog kicking feeling less weird, surface kicking still sucks, back kick is going strong, ow.

Are you sure you're using the same Hollis F1s I am?? I can understand frog kicking feeling a bit weird, as when I made the switch my my Slipstreams my frog kick seemed a bit more natural. But never noticed any real discomfort. As for surface kicking, who cares, get under the water!!! lol

Peace,
Greg

Clearly a case of love at first kick:D

Guy (who still uses Apollo Bio-Fins for long swims with no pain at all, but cramps up in his XL Jets)

P.S. BTW, does anyone know why SB often/usually emails multiple copies of the same post, and what can be done to fix it? For example, I got 8 copies of Mike's post.

Obviously I'm not, mine are here and yours are there :D And being able to surface kick is pretty important out here unless you want to waste gas.

Smartie-pants . Have you tried rolling onto your back to swim out? I do it all the time, especially using a frog-style kick. Ya it may be a little slower than others but it's not scuba racing, doggonit!

I back-swam about a hundred yards today back to the boat (stupid dive leader got us lost!!). Against the current. I'm still alive and no major cramps. Even felt good enough to do the second dive.

Peace,
Greg

Is there any other way to surface swim? (In case the sarcasm didn't come through, on my back is how I surface swim 99% of the time).
