Depending on your brand of regulator your DIN version may cost a lot less than one new tank.

You'll be purchasing just the portion that connects to the tank, the rest of the 1st stage remains unchanged. Just a thought
 
Problem is, we own two AL80 tanks already and it would be a pain when traveling too. We sometimes rent tanks and share with friends so it may be easier, at this point, to sell the tanks. Just had a hydro, visual and fill so they're ready to go.

Since you invested so much effort and time why not simply replace the valves and then sell the DIN ones.
 
Manby regulators can be used din and yoke with no more effort than unscrewing one nut, changing out one part and screwing that nut back on. What sort of regulator(s) are you using?

Probably 5/8" threads and I've never seen a yoke with that thread size.
 
Do they make a yoke valve for a tank rated for 3500?

Not as a legitimate product.

I have yet to find the origin of the DIN for 3500 PSI rule but it seems to hold. That's why the cylinders with convertible valves are rated at 3442. Shaving those few atmospheres off of the rating gets them in under the wire.

The most common supplier of the 3500 PSI cylinders was PST and those were built with 7/8 fine thread necks. That's physically smaller than the more common 3/4 straight pipe thread. This by design or otherwise prevents re-valving to alter the configuration.

As a few people have said, you might have trouble changing those valves; it's likely the tank neck threads are not the standard threads you see on most scuba tanks.

Depending on your reg, it's not that big a deal to convert them to DIN and back to yoke when you travel. Of course my attitude would be, gee what a great excuse to buy another reg set!
