finally they admit to it eh? They tried to tell me it wasn't a fault when my Mk20 blew itself in half. They said it wasn't due to the nature of the parts, and yet they rebuilt it with a steel part in place of a brass one. Hmmm

That is a different failure mode and parts than the one addressed by the recall. But the turret bolt on balanced piston regs is quite vulnerable to over torquing.

Make sure your service provider has a torque wrench capable of measurements in the 35 to 70 inch-pound range for Scubapro BP 1sts.
 
Fortunately not. Had just pressurised the reg turning on my valve.
Also: I am aware that the bolt must have been overtightened, but it was always serviced by approved scubapro servicing shops. It just seems that the same must happen to other regs with a similar retention system for the swivel, yet they do not appear to experience this failure like the Mk20 has been known to.
