The "major" currents are defined by how much water is actually carried in them. The Labrador Current is quite small, and doesn't even appear on many charts. The question is about the major gyres....there is one in each major ocean basi.

That's what I was gunna say. The Lab. current only seems major to us because it keeps NS cold and separate from the Gulf Stream....
