A 5mm is plenty especially with a hooded vest. Bring a couple gallon jugs of warm water (or a container you can fill in the bathroom sink) to dump in your suit right before you step in if you think you're going to freeze, that will keep most of the cold water from getting into your suit. We'll have heated tents on the surface so you won't freeze during the SIT, my buddy's salamander heater will have you sweating and pleading for cold water in no time at all if you get close enough to it :D

I'm probably going to try it, atleast one dive anyways - after all, that's the only way I'll know for certain if it's too cold for me or not.

If you are looking for a cold feeling then you will have to wait until after the Wolverines take the Chestnuts apart at the end of the college football season. :eyebrow:

Lance

Better ascend, I think the nitrogen is getting to you!

O! H!

I will be there!

Can you get a specialty course for underwater pumpkin carving? Handling sharp tools, zealous fish, cool water, and a buoyant gourd sound like it should qualify for its own specialty. Not to mention the necessary surface prep for cool air, camp fires, smores, etc. There's a lot of specialized equipment invovled...

Oh no, I hope I didn't just turn this into a training thread!

LOL! You busted me :D Last year I actually designed and printed my own certification cards and gave them to those who were able to demonstrate their pumpkin carving skills underwater :eyebrow:

Who is still planning to be at the Pumpkin Carving? I want to get a ballpark figure of how many divers we'll have. We now have a few small prizes for best costumes and pumpkins :)

I do!

Does 2 years make me an Advanced Underwater Pumpkin Carver?

Hmmm, I could probably come up with some requirements (and cert cards) for that :D I'm bringing the underwater decorations again :eyebrow:

Just a quick announcement.

My buddy asked Mike if he could have pumpkins available in case anyone didn't have time to get one. He said he could have a few available for sale ($1.50 or so) so if you don't have time to go grab a pumpkin don't worry, you can get it at the quarry.
