Quick details:
Within its 6.75 meter frame (22.15 feet), it is said to be packing 60 kWh of lithium batteries from sister-company Flux Power that can keep it going for up to 10 hours. It relies on a liquid-cooled brushless DC motor capable of pumping out 268 horsepower and 664 pound feet of torque for forward motion and can attain a top speed of about 40 miles per hour (64 km/h). Not bad considering it weighs in at 3,798 pounds. It comes with a charger and can be plugged into any available voltage outlet or can be topped off by an external generator running on diesel or bio-diesel. The dash features a nice touch-screen with controls and information for the motor, batteries and entertainment system.

Yes, I know it's a wake boat, but it's cool to see stuff like this come out.
10 hours duration with a top speed of 40 sounds pretty cool. Electric dive boats in the future would be sweet.

Better hope no water gets in the battery compartment...

The Navy has electric boats now, have had for years, they have a fission reactor that makes steam that makes the propeller go.

I don't think batteries will ever be very popular for marine propulsion without a reactor or fuel cell to charge them with the battery acting as a buffer.

I spent all this money on a boat that will not sink and now we want to fill it with heavy batteries, why not just back a dump truck to it and fill it with cement.

Cool concept but probably forever impractical for the same reason you will never see a battery powered airliner, no battery can provide the energy density of hydrocarbon fuels, not even close.

The Epic is a bad azz boat for wakeboarding. The electric version is the first of it's kind. Therefore it commands the $150,000 price tag :shocked2:
