I've seen some pretty crazy photos of Madison when flooded, and Little River siphoning with a log in the middle of the whirlpool, but I haven't seen Luraville underwater.

From the reports from AHPS / NWS , they are calling this a Historic flood ... (EEK) !!!!
Mat: Yes , I heard the same thing about the water getting up to the SR 51 road deck. I am going to go by the shop (D.O.) this weekend (maybe with a camera) and take some pics. And to see if Cathy and gang need any help.

If the water DOES get that high , I agree , it could be a while before Peacock opens back up.

what are the chances of Ginnie backing up this weekend and flooding the road, I have heard some talk about it, heck even the I10 where it runs over the swannee is possibly going to flood this weekend

Jeesh it rained pretty hard when I was down there last week, is it still raining 4" a day??

Its not just local rainfall that makes a difference, its rainfall in GA. Its also not rain from today that you're seeing making it to the river, its rain from several days ago, finally running off into the rivers. When we get a hard rain, water levels don't peak for several days later.
