I am using a bp/wing and am looking for a pocket to store, shears, whistle, slate and sausage. I like the glue on pockets for the drysuit but don't want to have to install them on both my wet and drysuit. I have a similar pocket by diverite that straps to the leg and is supported by the harness but am not sure I like it. I've also considered the oms no sag pocket but it seems pretty big. What are some the ways you stow these items?

I have the same DiveRite pocket that straps to the leg and is supported by the harness, but don't use it that way. I just thread it through the webbing, and cut off the extension straps. Works great for me, but it's not permenantly attached, so I have to remember to put it on before buckling up.

What doesn't work for you with the leg pocket? Personally, I just didn't like the feeling of having something strapped to my leg.

Same with me, I don't like it attached to my leg. I was considering just attaching it to my harness as it is supposedly able to do.

I use X-shorts

I keep the items I use a lot in the right side pocket.... and seldom used items on the left.

Keep everything clipped to a bungee rigged into the pocket

I dive DIR so I try to keep my configuration standardized... My buddies know where to get something if they need it.

Yeah, there's a little loop at the top that I thread my harness through. But you should try way this once or twice before you cut off the straps. Who knows, you might like the other way better.

I use military surplus pouches clipped on the waist strap of the harness. A first aid pouch will hold a small spool. Ammo pouch holds a larger spool, glove and tools or spare mask. At just a couple bucks each, you can tailor to each dive needs. Clips may rust a bit but clean up fairly easily.

I got the DR thigh pocket for Christmas and have been using it for skin diving, it will carry over to SCUBA I suspect. I've only had it out twice....

First time (also first time for a brand new Bare Arctic) It was odd, I had strapped it on to be firm and I l had it on a short lead form the belt. I ended up playing some with the straps out on the water and it was OK.
Here's something to watch for.....
The next night I was stowing my dried gear and when I brought the new suit right side out I found the leg of the suit chaFfed and several pulled threads... holly crap I said, I don't remember any rocks. Then I relaized that is where the pocket was, The webbing, especially the main waist web was heat cut and it left a hard razzor like edge that was chewing my suit! I've contacted DR and for the time being I sewed a panel of vinyl upolstry material over all of the back side straps for a smooth surface.

Tonight I tried it again leaving the thigh straps loose, I couldn't even tell it was there for just under 2 hours and I had a handy place to stow golfballs as I found them.
