Just wanted to get a heads up on what type of whistle if any divers have and use; do they recommend one over the other?

I'm looking at the Storm and the Fox40. Any tips on how to stow it away in the pocket so it's out of the way unless you need it?

Thanks,

MG

Neither.
Just a dive alert for some dives. I have the smallest size boltsnap on it.

Both the Storm and the Fox40 are fine whistles, good luck finding one in DIR black.

I use a black storm whistle permantly attached to my left shoulder D ring on a bungee loop, that way its always on hand in an emergency. I also carry a Dive Alert LP horn clipped off in my thigh pocket if doing open water/night dives.

I use an Orange Storm Whistle. I also use a small stainless steal snap bolt with a stainless steal split ring. I put it on a D Ring close to my shoulder.

As a volleyball official for twenty years I used a black Fox 40 all the time. Try a sporting goods store.

Thanks for all your input, my LDS has the Storm in black. It is a large whistle in comparison to the Fox40.

So, if I'm hearing this correctly a small boltsnap connected to this whistle via a stainless steel loop, on the left D-ring?

Thanks,

MG

???

I put some bungee on the whistle (circle made with fishermen knots) and clipped on a bolt snap. I keep this in my pocket. Danglies aren't very DIR...

Think this one through, I bet you can handle it without us.
