Hi,

Thanks for the info...the website is very interesting. We are planning a photo session on the pinthis...these are great reference photos.

Rafael,

For an idea of the typical vis on the Pinthis you can take a look at the video clip that is on my site. The link is in the column on the left. That dive is never a dissapointment.

Have fun,
Capt. Dennis

Check out the bow which was sheared off in a collision with the tanker Bidwell (sp?). there was a rumor that she had been sunk due to a collision with a submarine but that has been disproven through an investigation of the damage to the Bidwell. Also, the srew and the rudder can be an impresive sight if the visibility cooperates. Typically, the vis is not as good as on the Pinthis but the Mars is always an interesting dive. Just one word of caution; be aware of the possibility of drift/gill nets on or around the Mars. Last year there was a substantial size piece enveloping the bow. Try to stay off the bottom, it is a fine silty mud that easily forms clouds if disturbed.

You'll have a great dive, have fun!

Capt. Dennis

Thanks!!! I have heard nothing whatsoever about this wreck, so good info - figured the vis wouldn't be as good as the Pinthis, but nice to know to keep off the bottom.

See ya'll there!

We had a great time out on the Pinthis today! It was nice meeting everyone, hopefully those of you who were heading out in the afternoon had a good set of dives as well.

I highly reccomend the Daybreaker! The people from this forum who recommended him were right on the money! Probably the friendliest most helpful charter boat I have been on in New England or anywhere else for that matter. Captain Fran Marcoux was top notch. I discovered I had a hole in my wrist seal during the first dive. As soon as I got back aboard Fran whipped out the aquaseal and fixed my suit for me. I had a nice leak free second dive. They even took sandwich orders after the first dive and have the made to order sandwiches waiting after the second. I have nothing but positive things to say about them! :D

Oh... yeah.. I suppose I should talk about the dives themselves..... The vis wasn't bad but not the legendary Pinthis conditions people often report. Probably around 15 ft. Still had two great dives though. Water temps were about 45 F. We managed to pretty thoroughly explore the exterior the wreck over the course of the two dives.

And Ray.... there is now a mooring on the wreck. Fran put a new one on there at the start of our charter today.

Hi,

I was hoping for better conditions on the wreck, but anyhow I got few pictures. I will be back since this is a good size wreck and would like to see it with good vis. The Daybraker is great !

Great pictures amigo! Those twin strobes worked really well for those wide shots!

I also noticed something funny.... the first picture in your post is a picture of me taking a picture and I think the picture I was taking is the first picture in my post! :D
