Gregg how do you like the pro-fit harness and did you ever test out the same bp/w with the hogarthian harness?
Never tried it with the Hog harness and this is my first BP/W experience. I have owned it about a week and only have a few dives on it.
That said, I like the Pro-Fit harness. With all the exposure protection we wear here, the easier it is to get in and out of a rig the better. I used the shoulder clips on my old BC all the time, so I figured I'd want those.
I LOVE the hardware on the PF harness. The bent D-rings are super easy to clip things to. Very ingenious, those rings.
The webbing is very soft, and does tend to twist around a bit...much more than standard webbing, when you're getting in and out of it. But I've never met a rig that was exactly easy to get out of when you're wearing a ton of exposure protection and weight.
It's all very easy to adjust of course, and getting out of the rig is very easy with the clips.
My thinking was, get the DSS package and enjoy the price break you get by getting it all together, including the PF harness. I can always rig up a Hog harness later if I come to the conclusion that it would be better, and I can do that very inexpensively. For now, I love the features of the PF harness. It's far less cluttered than anything I have ever dove, and the hardware is bulletproof and well-designed.
To say nothing of the rest of the rig...I really think I'm in love...it was like a whole new type of diving experience...religious, almost
Cheers!
