From an archived snapshot of the old DSS site:

Large - 5.8 lbs, about 2" wider and 1" taller than the medium

Long - 6.3 lbs, about 2.5" taller than the medium

Extra Long - 6.9 lbs, about 4" taller than the medium

For comparison, here's images of the medium, large, long and extra long in that order.

The OP's image is an Extra Long which you can see from the cutout at the top of the plate.

That's for really tall divers. Tobin suggested 6'8" and up. So I'm out :-)
I was "in".... (Don't need a fourth now)

Great plates! A tall guy will be lucky to grab this.

I am 6'4'ish but have a long torso, the fit is perfect for me.
I think Tobin must have been a little on the short-torsoed side. I'm 5'11" and have a long torso. I wanted to order a Large, but he talked me into a medium. It was my first plate and I used it, but now that I know better, it was much too short. Luckily I was eventually able to get a long Freedom Plate. I handed down the DSS plate to my then 12-year-old son, but he's now 6'2" so I'm the lookout for a longer single tank plate for him.

I'm 6'-7". He argued with me when I wanted a long pattern, and again when I ordered an x-long like a year later... Fortunately I got my long Kydex through the used market...

To the OP, please correct your post title to say "x-long pattern". rather than XL....

Since I think the only question here is what’s a great friends or family price no how great the plate may be. To answer the question, if your friend is a friend a great price is whatever you paid for it and the family price…there are to many variables here, you choose friends while family is thrust upon you.

I think it also depends on how tall the buddy is. Unless he's 6'6" or taller, he'll be better off with a different plate. And then this one could be let free to find a thankful giant.

But than wasn’t the question.

I'm not sure what you mean by Halcyon Single Strap. When I look up the name, it comes up with a $61 tank strap for their STA, do you mean their $80 Harness webbing kit?

Now for the plate. I'd give you $200 for it. You can work back from there.

Or take my $200. I'd even pay retail for the webbing kit (if that's what it is and it's new) to get the plate.
Shoot me a DM and we can get it worked out. I am headed out on a family vacation, sadly no diving, but will check in occasionally and we can get it done. You raised your hand first so you get dibs. I am relatively new to SB but @MrChen can vouch for me if you need it.
