If you take on the job of standby diver then you take on the risk, if the diver in the water is in trouble you’re going to go to help and you expect them to do the same for you. Unfortunately the value of life is very different for some people in different parts of the world. Would you consider children diving for coins in a dirty river a justifiable risk.If the dive is a rescue dive, the number one rule is you never put your own life at risk, one death is enough, don't add to it.
Are you suggesting your life is worth a certain sum of money, that for a sum of money over a certain threshold you would risk your life for that sum? How do you think your family would feel about that?
