Why teach or assert that 'you need a fully redundant deco gas supply on your person' unless it is implicitly a solo tech/deco course?

Who said this?
It sounded like Wibble was saying it?
Bring redundant supplies of all gases, incl deco?
Plan your dive for deco all on back-gas only?

Is that partly why OP is talking about bringing too many tanks on a basic level deco dive?

Is this common thinking under TDI x-range now?

Citation?
Sorry yeah here (there were two threads though)

That’s not the case with my dive scenario. In my case my dive scenario was part of a tech DPV course, I was already a helitrox and stage cave diver, and my DPV instructor wanted to make things complicated (realistic). It was a boat dive and we didn’t get into (much) deco, but the instructor wanted to task load us with our dpv’s.

This question/post arose because I mentioned this dive to a diff instructor (who didn’t know I was stage cave certified), and he asked me “are you even allowed to do that 4 tank dive on your helitrox cert?”.

Ok fair question then. You shouldn't be restricted from doing (or practicing) something you already know, and/or have good reasoning to do.

Unless the hypersensitive instructor or business is facing negligence for being associated with it under our insanely dystopian legal environment

Unfortunately our thread will not hold up in court

I’m not a TDI diver, so just curious on this. Reading the course Diver Standards, for DP you are required to manage only one deco cylinder. Same for the Helitrox course. This seems like a common standard, Tec45 is the same, and not a particular instructor. Seemed like a fair question from the instructor, especially if he wasn’t aware of your full training and cert history.
