I'm still crestfallen about Captain Luke's unfortunate situation with the Neptunus but I'm fired up to dive again with Captain Alex at Narcosis.

Going to train with my new Logic Dive Gear Sentry dashboard I installed on my new G3.1 DPV.

As always, I'm feverishly trying to emulate @Johnoly 's general example so I'll have a big box of still-warm breakfast pastries under one arm.
I have gone out many times with Narcosis, Capt. Van and then Capt. Alex, a really great operation. I'd be glad to take one of your pastries.

That will make the captain & crew happy and you also will get to pick the 2nd tank's dive site !!

What all needs to be repaired besides electrical? Is the engine lost?
If the boat was refloated within a day, they will immediately pull the spark/glow plugs and crank the engine to pushout the saltwater. That water should not have seeped past the piston rings to get into the engine bearings. It should not be enough time in the salt to corrode anything. Blow it out, do 2-3 engine oil changes and turn over the starter to lubricate every thing. And if it's electrical it may or may not be ruined. Alot of boat wiring is 'tinned' to resist the salt air already. Radios, switches and engine wiring probably need to be replaced. It's expensive but alot of boats get refloated that sank at the dock and restart as soon as they are dried out. I hope that he is able to get back on the water and running trips soon.

Here is a compilation video from my dives last weekend in Palm Beach. GoPro Quik is getting quite good at doing this all on its own. It is constantly generating videos from uploaded content I have on iOS. Some are just meh, but some are pretty good. I thought this one was pretty darn good, especially given that I had to do nothing except export the videos and color correct them. Maybe one day it will even color correct them all on its own!

Enjoy.

It’s nice that it cuts between clips on the beat of the audio track.

Double Ledge first drop. Pretty dull dive TBH but I think even the dull dives are something to be grateful for.

Mid-reef to Spearman’s Barge second drop. Schooling Caribbean fish, fish and more fish on this dive.

Mild north current, 1.5mm WS, viz was 10-12m.

Really digging my Logic Dive Gear (Genesis) Sentry dashboard to monitor battery consumption in real time. I used a little over 100 Watt hours on two dives.

Ran down to Boca Raton to pick up some HP100s to make a third twinset.

Thanks for the viz report. I'm jumping on the 9/22 afternoon lobster boat of JDC. Too many house chores lately. Your battery consumption is really low for 2 dives. In the past, I'm zig-zagging the reef at full throttle and switching lead batteries after each dive on an Apollo.

A "dull" dive in Palm Beach County is a good dive for me. Even just all the usual reef fish is a pleasure on the reefs. The only things that can detract from a good time are terrible vis and a water temperature not tolerable with available exposure protection.

Forgot to mention the big rollers at 3-4s apart. I rather enjoyed them while waiting on the boat.
