Okay, after lots of research here on the Board (this and other threads) and everywhere else I could find information, I finally made my decision and purchase. I decided on an Oxycheq Signature series 45# lift wing and FredT alum bp and light sta and the Hogarthian harness rather than a prefab.
Now the why - Oxycheq is very streamlined, it's a "donut" wing rather than a horseshoe, no bungee, and the 45# is the same size as the 30# when deflated. I dive dry quite a bit. I could probably get by with a 30# wing, but why "get by". I'd rather have the extra insurance, especially when the wing is essentially the same size. I bought this, and a lot of other stuff from Larry (ScubaToys). I'll be posting a review of this transaction later. I will say that it definitely exceeded my expectations!

Thanks Larry!
FredT - it's finished, which means less wear on the webbing and Fred offers a variety of sizes and weights. This is my first bp. I dive dry, but I also like my occasional trip to warm water and nothing but a 3mm

I can throw some weight on a belt when I dive dry with the alum, but I can't shave weight off ss to dive 3mm. After I've gotten used to this set up and recovered from the expenditure I just experienced, I'll be ordering some more plates of varying weights from Fred. Soon the house will be full of them! Fred was great help. I was having trouble figuring out bp length, so I just shot him a couple of photos through e-mail and he set us right up. He was also very helpful in making sure we get all the stuff we need to set up our rigs. It's tough doing this with no local resources. Thanks, Fred!
Okay, we don't actually have the stuff yet. It should all be here by Monday. We'll take it to the pool Thursday to try it out, then dive Friday or Saturday. I'll post another report then. I can't wait!
